The new harmonized sorting signage now mandatory on your labels
Sorting and recycling are integral parts of responsible consumption, increasingly valued by consumers. Adding the Info-tri label on your labels provides reliable and harmonized information, encouraging ecological action.
Currently, sorting is the predominant environmental action in France, with 87% of citizens sorting their paper, though only 41% do so systematically.
Info-tri aims to encourage more regular and consistent sorting habits.
What does the law say about labels?
This harmonized signage, presenting the sorting rule (Info-tri), has been mandatory on all your personalized labels since January 1, 2022. It must always be associated with the Triman logo.
- Small-sized labels may be exempt or subject to adaptations of the signage obligation.
- The Info-tri system is validated by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Ministry of Economy and Finance and becomes the reference marking on labels, serving as a guide for consumers.
It is governed by strict rules that apply to all companies marketing graphic labels in France. As a result, any previous marking (standardized or customized) has been prohibited since March 9, 2023. - The ministry in charge of the environment has given principle approval for the joint implementation of Info-tri whenever products are subject to both household packaging EPR and one or more other EPR schemes, using the validation date of the last Info-tri as the starting point.
